TLVFest is proud to host the Israeli premiere of one of the most talked-of documentaries of 2015, following a year of successful screenings in film festivals across the world.Director Jake Witzenfeld has created an intimate portrait of three gay Palestinian friends living in Tel Aviv, whose national identity is in constant conflict with who and what they are.
Khader, a well-known figure in Tel Aviv nightlife (and former TLVFest staff member), comes from an old Jaffa family. He lives with his Jewish partner and their Dalmatian dog.
Fadi is a committed Palestinian nationalist who continues to fall in love with Zionists. The third member of the group, Naim, must confront his family about his sexuality. The Middle Eastern reality has unexpected plans for the three friends when a military operation is launched in the summer of 2014, bringing racism and hatred in Israel to new heights.
Together with some friends, they decide to form QAMBUTA, a group working in the areas of culture, gender and equality.
Oriented is an exciting, fascinating work of art, and a must-see film for anyone living in this country.
