From actress and director Helena Bergström comes a hilarious comedy about LGBT families. Ranking third on the list of Swedish blockbusters for 2015, this tremendously funny family film will be exclusively shown in Israel at the 2016 TLVFest.
The film tells the story of a gay couple who invite their families to a festive holiday meal at their new home. Not only will it be the first meeting for the two families, but the couple also intends to reveal an unexpected surprise that will make all of their relatives' prejudice and homophobia come to the surface; the holiday dinner soon descends into chaos.
A Holy Mess is filled with hilarious as well as dramatic moments, yet also carrying an important social message. The cast could not be more ideal. The 100 Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared star Robert Gustafsson is hilarious in his role as the racist, homophobic father of one of the men. Veteran Swedish actress Maria Lundqvist plays his wife, while the actress' real-life son, Anton Lundqvist, portrays their on-screen son.
