Fourteen-year old Davide is different from other boys. Running away from home, he finds refuge in a park that is a world of it own, where lost youths from across the city of Catania wander. It is a universe existing on the sidelines, at which reality turns a blind eye.
One day, Davide’s past catches up with him, and he is about to face the most difficult choice of his life.
In the best tradition of Italian drama, Darker than Midnight faithfully depicts the miserable yet vibrant life of the streets, adhering to the neo-realist heritage of Pasolini and Fellini.
The outcome is as enthralling as only Italian films are, with a gallery of colorful figures, boisterous hookers, handsome boys and young men, and touching music. Don’t miss out on this spellbinding film, with an ending that will stay with you long after you watch it.
