Two of Gustafson’s works were immensely successful in previous TLVFests – his musical Were the World Mine and dramatic film Getting Go, which he produced. Hello Again is inspired by La Ronde, the outrageous play by Jewish-American playwright and author Arthur Schnitzler, which consists of ten different stories of lust, love, and betrayal that take place at different times in New York City. Cast members play various characters in different periods, each member being featured in at least two of the stories.
The impressive cast features the number-one Broadway diva and five-times Tony Award winner Audra McDonald (Beauty and the Beast), T.R. Knight (Gray’s Anatomy), Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror), Martha Plympton (The Real O’Neals), Jenna Ushkowitz (Glee), Rumer Willis (Demi and Bruce’s daughter), and actor/singer/model Nolan Gerard Funk (Riddick, Arrow, and the face, along with Lady Gaga, of Versace).

Der Reigen is the original German-language title of Schnitzler’s 1896 play, adapted into film (as La Ronde) in 1950 by Max Ophüls. In 1994, the Lincoln Center granted composer Michael John LaChiusa a stipend in order to adapt the play into a musical. Israeli audiences will be the second across the world to be exposed to this exquisite adaptation.
