Director and producer Bruce McDonald has adapted Daniel MacIvor’s witty script into an enchanted combination between a teen drama and a journey film. Set during the 1970s and beautifully filmed in bright, perfectly-styled black and white by Becky Parsons, the movie is accompanied by a nostalgic seventies soundtrack.
High school students Kit and Alice go on an adventure along Canada’s eastern shores. Kit wants to move in with his mother, who resides in a seaside commune. She is an artist who had worked with Kit’s favorite artist, Andy Warhol, who also appears in Kit’s fantasies and dreams. In love with Kit, Alice cannot understand why he is more interested in the men whom they come across than in her. During the journey both of them develop new insights about themselves, which prove a test to their relationship.
