This Indian film has captivated audiences in numerous film festivals across the world and is finally being shown in Israel. Angry Indian Goddesses is a proud member of the Best-friend genre, alongside Steel Magnolias, Boys on the Side, Fried Green Tomatoes, and the inevitable Sex and the City. Its magnetism results from an excellent mix of comedy and drama, as well as a splendid feminine cast.
A group of friends who have not seen each other in a long time come together at an amazing Goa beach house. They were invited by one member of their group, who messaged them all urgently, stating: I’m getting married. It’s only when they arrive that an even bigger surprise unfolds – their friend comes out of the closet and is planning to marry her girlfriend, of whom they knew nothing.
Angry Indian Goddesses touches on a range of important social issues, such as violence against women and gender and sexual discrimination.
Director and scriptwriter Pan Nalin lets audiences on a spellbinding roller coaster that goes full tilt right from the opening sequence down to a surprising ending that will move everyone to tears.
