This independent documentary by Berlin-based Chinese journalist Bin Chen takes a look at three different people seeking asylum. Having failed to commit suicide at a refugee camp, Azerbaijani refugee Javid decides to make an effort to draw public awareness to the rights of LGBT refugees. Russian refugee Boris arrives at Germany’s first and only refugee shelter dedicated entirely to LGBT people. At the shelter he begins to experience depression, brought on by the complexities of the asylum process. Melissa, a Syrian transgender refugee, comes up with her own unique way to encourage refugees in crisis situations.
