Jean is a young doctor who returns to live in her parents’ home she inherited in her small, rural and conservative British hometown after World War II. Through one of the children at the school where she serves as a doctor, she meets a young mother named Lydia who is struggling to survive as a single mother because her husband abandoned her for the sake of wanderings and a new love. The two women will find that love can be found even in the most unexpected moments. Love may save them from the social isolation they are in, but put them in a whole new danger.
