In his second film, German director Hendrik Schaefer accompanies an Israeli gay couple, Motty and Alon, throughout their journey to become parents of twins through an American surrogate mother named Krista, who lives in Oregon, USA.
For a period of one year we examine the daily life of the couple in Israel. We look at how they are coping with the heavy economic and medical demands, the social pressure and religious issues that the State of Israel puts on them during their quest for fatherhood. Through the couple’s personal story the film raises questions about parenting, social norms and the impact of technology on the world in which we live.
