Director Leonie Krippendorff’s youth drama is one of the sweetest but also bravest that has been seen on screen in recent years.
The shy Nora is a 14-year-old Berlin girl who lives in Kreuzberg and spends her time with her sister and best friend at a pub or in the nearby municipal pool. She will never forget the summer when she first gets her period, falls in love with a girl and learns to stand for herself. Surrounded by young people from different cultural and social backgrounds, she makes paves her way to adulthood.
Director Leonie Krippendorff manages to create a magical but also completely authentic summer piece about a girl whose life, after one summer, will never be the same.
