Bare opens with yet another dull, ordinary day in a small American desert town. Local resident Sarah (Dianna Agron – Glee) sees her life change abruptly when she meets sexy Pepper (Paz de la Huerta, featured in Boardwalk Empire and Gaspar Noé’s masterpiece Enter the Void).
A dubious yet charismatic figure, Pepper succeeds in blowing Sarah’s monotonous life off course. Now Sarah is at risk of growing distant from her boyfriend, family and workplace, having an uncalled-for affair, and discovering a new, dangerous world.
Leading actresses Agron and de la Huerte share intensive, hypnotizing on-camera chemistry.
Director Natalia Leite’s debut film is crafted to visual perfection. She has created a microcosm of desire between two women living on the margins of American society. Leite calls out to women to take control of their own destiny and allow no-one to determine their future for them.
