With a minimal budget, but with a lot of motivation and courage, the independent transgender cinema artist, Kristina Maca, provides viewers with her first feature film “T-Stories”.
The film is divided into three episodes and provides a non-chronological glimpse into the difficult lives (and sometimes nightmarish situations) of the two transgender girlfriends, Janet and Vanessa, living in Berlin.
“T-Stories” is a young work in its spirit, immature in its making, but the power of watching it leaves a mark.
Maca manages to upset the viewer’s serenity and sweep them into the complicated scenes, some of which were shot in complex one-shots that last for long minutes, and manage to capture the mood of the heroines but also the alienated atmosphere of Berlin that is not really friendly to the film’s transgender heroines.
Queer cinema, independent and real.
