Did you love the Netflix series “Sex Education”? If so, we have the perfect film for you.
Eddie is determined to follow his father’s footsteps and enlist in the military after graduation. Amber plans to move to London to finally be free. Dreams are good, but dreams do not help when in the school yard you are challenged with accusations of being gay or a lesbian.
Two high school students in a small, conservative town near Dublin decide to fake a relationship to stop the rumors about their sexual orientation. They have the perfect plan and impersonate the perfect couple. The plan seems solid, but Eddie’s denial of his sexual orientation is growing, just as Amber realizes that living in a closet is a very toxic and unhealthy thing to do.
Both lead actors, Fionn O’Shea (“Handsome Devil”, “Normal People”) and Lola Petticrew, deliver delightful performances in a delicate and bitter Irish comedy, which has become a surprising summer hit across the UK during the months of lockdown.
