Monika Treut’s groundbreaking documentary, which explores the world and thoughts of transgender activists living in and around San Fransisco. Treut visits her heroes in their natural environment, whether it’s at home, work or on the streets of San Francisco.
The film provides us with a fascinating point of view on life at the end of the 90’s, long before shows like “Pose” or “Veneno” were created and drag queens on the trans spectrum were allowed to be on “RuPaul’s Drag Race”. The film acknowledges the difficulties of living in those years and the brave sacrifices that were made by those people to be able to live their lives as they saw fit.
