This unique documentary by Spanish director Adrian Silvestre is a surprising and exciting piece of lyrical cinema that brings to the big screen the stories of six transgender women of different ages and different backgrounds, each of them representing a different aspect of transgender femininity. They don’t know each other, but they all travel together to the small town of Leon, Spain, where they will explore the unusual landscapes as well as their inner selves, look for answers about what holds them together as a group, and will have to overcome their differences.
“Sediments” is an X-ray of the transgender community, presenting different individual heroines that together form a multi-layered society.
A fascinating, complex yet enjoyable film about human empathy. This is a cinematic piece that looks to the past, projects itself onto the future and celebrates the extraordinary opportunity to be unique.
