Andreas and Stefan lead a happy existence with their cat in a picture-perfect house with a large garden in a leafy Vienna suburb.
They both work for the same orchestra: Andreas is the director and Stefan is a musician. Their life revolves around their passion for music, dinners with friends, and taking care of their furry companion.
One morning, an unexpected outburst of violence shakes their harmonious relationship. From that moment on doubt and alienation creep in, and the secure home they had built starts falling apart.
In his second feature film, Händl Klaus studies the fragility of love and how whole lives are shattered due to a single, inexplicable act.
Tomcat is a fascinating film that shows a protean homosexual couple in a naturalist, sensitive way. Lukas Turtur and Philipp Hochmair are outstanding as the two lovers.
Viewing is restricted to 18 years and older due to explicit sexual content and violence.
