Actor Alan Cumming is TLVFest guest of honor this year.
Currently playing Eli Gold on The Good Wife, Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG-nominee Cumming has appeared in many films; his main credits include Eyes Wide Shut, X2: X Men United, Spy Kids, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, GoldenEye, Emma, Josie and the Pussycats, Burlesque, Son of the Mask,The Smurfs, Spice World, and The Anniversary Party, which he wrote and directed with actress Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Cumming starred as Hamlet in the West End and performed in a unique Broadway production of Macbeth, in which he played all principal roles.
His involvement with the Tony Award is twofold – he has both hosted the award ceremony in 2015 and won a Tony in 1998 for his role in Cabaret, a show he returned to in 2014/15 starring opposite Emma Stone, Michelle Williams and Sienna Miller.
For his role in Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Cumming won the prestigious Olivier Award. He has also appeared in several television shows, including Sex and the City, The L Word, and the Wizard of Oz-inspired miniseries Tin Man. Furthering his involvement in this medium, he has written a BBC series called The High Life, in which he also played the leading role.
Recently, Cumming recorded a song with Electro-Pop musician Bright Light Bright Light. As a stage performer, he brings his one-man musical show Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs to theaters across the world.
Heavily involved in activism, Cumming has won several awards for social involvement, granted by organizations such as AMFAR, Human Rights Campaign, the Matthew Shepard Foundation, GLAAD, and the Trevor Project.
