Shane might be the most handsome man in his village, yet his loved ones leave him one by one. Pitch is in love with Shane, yet a terminal illness forces him to travel to Bangkok for treatment. Despite their love, the two grow apart, each focusing on his own life. But reality has other things in store for them; personal tragedies bring them together again for a few days of beautiful, pure serenity. Over this brief period they will recall the strength of their love and make moving gestures to keep each other safe.
Flower arrangement, karma, and reincarnation are at the heart of Anucha Boonyawatana’s latest film. Its strongest message to viewers is that love does not last forever. It must be experienced to the fullest while there is still time. This poetic creation moves with certainty and elegance between temporal and spiritual, between nature’s beauty and ugliness, and gives us a look into a gentle, unusual queer romance.
