“BALONEY” tells the surprising story of a male queer Burlesque theater that is composed of gay and straight men and one cisgender woman, all of them residents of San Fransisco. The entertaining show includes dance, theater and striptease and takes its viewers on a fantasy journey. It features plenty of confessions about love and sexuality in the 21st century, of work in the sex industry, pornography, dates, different types of manhood and plenty of challenges that compose the life in a big gay city such as San Fransisco.
Filmmaker Joshua Guerci takes the audience behind the scenes of the show and introduces the couple behind the idea. The film also follows the artists who are part of the show and tells their personal stories with humor, love of humanity. It also touches how the Covid pandemic influenced the show and its artists.
A charming and heartwarming film.
